Thought it would be nice to have one last look at one of my favourite sets that will be retiring from the Stampin’Up! catalogue in less than a week.
I have had so much fun using this set, Blossoms Abound – might be because lilacs are one of my favourite flowers!
For this card I used Mellow Moss card, the mount is Orchid Opulence ad the image is two step stamped on Very Vanilla using Orchid Opulence and Elegant Eggplant plus Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss. The ribbon is Mellow Moss taffeta. Side feature is jumbo wheel Speckled and word is from Wonderful Words both also retiring! I will miss those words……
I finished my last night shift last night so am now on holidays!!!!! Only 6 more days until I leave for South Africa! If you would like to look at what I am doing over there you can visit the Simunye Project website here.
I hope you all enjoy the new catalogue when it comes to you and I will update the catalogue details on here when I arrive back home again. I’ll post some photos of our trip and our game drives. It is getting very exciting now!
It’s getting close to the end of another Stampin’Up! year, so thought I would show one more card using retiring stamps, papers and ribbon.
This card is done using grid technique – you can just see the grid lines on the whisper white card. Stamps used are from the Three For You Punch box set, ribbon is River Rock stitched ribbon and DSP Bali Breeze paper. I will be so sorry to see this paper disappear.
However I can tell you that there are some divine new Designer Series papers in the 2009-2010 catalogue! I love them all!!!! And it is not long now until you will all be able to see them.
Now why is this entry headed “Thankyou“? Well I would like to give a huge THANKYOU! to my lovely team of demonstrators and to my wonderful friends/customers who have helped me achieve the Stampin’Up! Incentive Trip for 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am off to Noosa in August with all the other terrific demonstrators from Stampin’Up! I am in awe of being a part of that fraternity, something I never imagined I would achieve in my wildest dreams! So thankyou everyone for helping me reach such a wonderful dream!
Also the countdown is on for my trip to South Africa. We did a very successful Trivia Night and Auction last night to raise funds for the Princess Alice Orphanage in Johannesburg amongst other charities we are assisting while over there. April 1st is departure date!
When I get home it will be a mad rush to prepare for Stampin’Up! Convention in Canberra at the start of May. My year is becoming sooooo exciting!
Hope to post again before I head off!
This week I have my Technique classes running. We will be doing 3 techniques – one of which I have shown here, Polished Stone. This background method gives a lovely feature to your cards. We will also be doing Grid technique and Emboss Resist.
If you are local to Mt. Waverley and would like to come along please email me.
The cost is $15 to make 3 cards and 3 technique cards to keep as reference. Times are Thursday March 26th at 7.30pm or Saturday March 28 at 1.30pm.
I received my new copy of the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue today! Of course not much else got done today as I spent hours going through it again and again! I can’t wait to show it off to all of you. Only 13 more days until release day on April 1st.
That is also very exciting for another reason – I fly out to South Africa on that day for a 17 day trip with my son’s Year 11/12 school group! We are doing a Community trip whereby the students have been fundraising money for the last year to take to South Africa to be used in the community areas we will support and work in. We will spend time working in two orphanages, an after school programme for Aids orphans and the students will teach and work in a school in Manyeleti, which is up near Kruger National Park.
My daughter did this trip 18 months ago and had a fantastic time learning to make a difference for others in the world. We have had 12 months of planning for this trip and to finally have it so close is very, very exciting!
Hope to have some time to post some cards on here before I go!
This week sees me demonstrating and working on our teams Stampin’Up! stand at the Stitches & Craft Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds. The show runs from March 11 – 15. I will be there from the 11th to 13th so please come
and say hi and have a look at our fantastic display.
I will post some photos of the stand and our displays for you to see.
The card here is one from my display poster using one of my favourite sets which sadly is Retiring from the catalogue at the end of the month. It’s Bodacious Bouquet and I’ve used the rockn’roll technique with it here. The flowerhas been stamped in Tempting Turquoise and the the edges rolled in Brilliant Blue and stamped on Whisper White card. The leaves are done in Always Artichoke. The background stamp on the main card is Canvas and the words come from Short & Sweet. I love this card as it is so bright and cheery. I actually did this card as a swap at our Regionals event last year in November.
Will post pics soon of the team at the Show. See you!
