This is my Christmas card for my family and relatives this year. I’m really rather pleased with it!
I’ve used Holiday Lineup and after clear embossing the stamped image I have painted bleach in the areas I wanted to white out. It is a great technique to use for the snowmen as they can often be a challenge to colour in. I added some Dazzling Diamonds to give a touch of bling.
The ribbon is from the recent Spring mini catalogue and the background is done using the So Swirly jumbo wheel. I did do others using the Soft Holly wheel which looked very effective too.
Card colours are Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Riding Hood Red.
Here is another birthday card I made for my good friend and stamping buddy Heather. Her birthday was Friday – Happy Birthday Heather! I couldn’t post it earlier otherwise she would have seen it!
I got the inspiration from Lorraine Castellon-Rowe’s blog. The things you find when you are searching for something totally unrelated!!!! Thank you Lorraine. I was looking for Circle Scissor ideas at the time – and I did use the circle scissors for this card!
I got the colour combination from the new Kaleidoscope DSP colours in the new Summer Mini catalogue which I love!
The flowers are punched out using the 5 petal punch and stamped with the dot stamp from Bird on a Branch, then sponged in the matching card colour ink. The other flowers are punched using Boho Blossoms punch and Trio Flower punch. They have all been fixed together using circle Rhinestone brads from the Fire and Ice selections.
Must say I was very pleased with the result and am thinking of trying one using butterflies for my daughter’s upcoming birthday.
It is one of my good friend’s birthday today and here is the card I made for her. It uses the Dahlia Fold technique. I demonstrated this in my last Technique class for the year. I made other cards but one of my good customers -Hi Sarah!, made one using this colour combination and we all loved it! So I just had to try it out too. You can see a great tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers website.
The DSP used is Candy Lane. The choc chip jumbo brad looks fabulous and the stamp set used is Petal Pizzazz. The words are from Basic Phrases and punched out with the word window punch.
PS Happy Birthday Miriam!
Stampin’Up! has announced that the Jumbo Neutral brads, the Scallop Oval Punch, StazOn white ink pad and refill, PLUS the StazOn cleaner will continue to be available as they will feature in the next Idea & Catalogue book next year.
How good is that!
Here is a cute little gift pouch created using a 6 inch circle cut using the new Circle Scissors from the Summer Mini Catalogue. The idea came from a tutorial by Angie Kennedy Juda who is a demonstrator in the US and has the most amazing projects on her blog and video page. I know there is a way to create links but here is her address – http://www.chinscratch.typepad.com/
I’ve used Chocolate Chip card and the band is Tempting Turquoise – one of my favourite colour combinations. The stamp set is For Everything from the Summer Mini as well. I love the little bird in this set, it is so easy to colour and blend colours to shade him in.
These little pouches are perfect to fit in 3 LoveNote cards and Envelopes or a square flat chocolate like these Ghiaradelli ones. ( Thankyou Gail Kirby for getting these for me!) If you make one of these don’t put your band around the middle until you have your goodies inserted and then you can size the band to the correct dimensions. We did these at my Mystery Hostess Workshop and everyone was very pleased with them. They will make cute teacher gifts or little thankyou gifts.
I decorated the Love Notes using the For Everything set. The photo is not all that clear – sorry. I also added a stamped image to the envelope. This is such a cute set!
It’s always so much fun when a new Mini comes out – new stamps to get the creative ideas flowing, new tools to play with, new embellishments to have fun with…………..
Here is a cute quick and easy card I made using Animal Stories one of the gorgeous new stamp sets in the new Summer Mini Catalogue. The ribbon is also new – Polka-dot Real Red Grosgrain. It is terrific as you can use both sides, this side as shown or plain with the stitched edge on the other side.
I did make a boo-boo with this card. Can you pick it?
The punch is wrong! Unfortunately the scallop oval punch is no longer available. It was in the Spring Mini catalogue which finished yesterday! Sorry!
I must say this card and the others I created using other stamps from this set were a hit at my Mystery Hostess Workshop last night. Make sure you check out the new Mini catalogue at my webpage www.createwithjanine.stampinup.net
