Today I held my Easel Card class and as usual it was lots of fun and chat. The talented ladies attending all made beautiful cards based around the samples I had made. I love seeing how my ideas can be changed around to create something else that looks simply stunning!
These are my samples plus there is the one you can see in an earlier post using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.
It was interesting to find out just how many ways there are to create the “holder” for the easel part of the card. As you can see I’ve used a silver Hodge Podge brad, rhinestone brads, punched eyelet edging (Vintage Vogue card), button and raised punched card.
Stamp sets used are – Pendant Park and On Your Birthday (Chocolate Chip card)
– Asian Artistry ( Gable Green card and Certainly Celery card)
– Pocket Silhouttes and Inspired by Nature (Tangerine Tango card)
Extra colour was added to the tree in the Pendant Park card by using a technique called “Thumping”. This is where you ink your stamp up in the base colour and then with a marker pen in a darker colour you thump the pen onto the stamp in a drumming motion. It is a great way to add random colour to a stamp before printing it.
The Asian Artistry stamps were coloured using markers direct to rubber.

I really don’t know where my time goes! I can’t believe it is so long since I posted on here. I have been card making but they have been given away before I realised I had not taken a photo of them!
Anyway here is one that I did get around to photographing before I posted it!
It was inspired by a card I saw on Chris McLucas’s blog – Stamp Stuff. She has a version in these colours with a different layout. It was done as a farewell to Apricot Bliss card, ink and ribbon which tomorrow will go on the “Last Chance” list. the list is being released by StampinUp! Australia tonight and like many Aussie demonstrators I’ll be staying up to check it out PLUS get in early to order my boxes of brand new 2010 Idea Book & Catalogues!
Stamp sets used are – Pocket Silhoutes and Inspired by Nature.
Card is Apricot Bliss, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White.
Here is a sample of the Easel cards I will be teaching in my next set of classes this month. This is a really cute card to make and has endless possibilities for decoration. This is my first sample and I intend to do a heap more! The beauty of this card is that it folds flat for placing in an envelope.
If you’d like to come along to one of my classes, I am holding them on Thursday July 29 at 7.30pm or Saturday July 31 at 1.30pm. Cost is $15 and includes all materials. Please email me if you would like to come along. I’m hoping that everyone will make two cards for themselves in the class. Classes are held in Mt. Waverley.
Colours used for this card were Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White card and matching inks. Stamp set is Vintage Vogue. Accessories used were Ice circle brads and Eyelet border punch.
Thanks for looking!
