Before I head off to assist setting up at Paperific here is another farewell post to another of the Summer mini catalogue sets – Spiced Paisley. The fabric that matches this stamp set will still be available as a carry over item – isn’t that great!
I stamped up a sheet of Whisper White with the images from this set to create enough stamped pieces to make 8 – 9 cards once the sheet is cut into different sized pieces. Here are two of the cards I created, the rest are waiting to be finished off. The layouts are tried and trusted ones.
The cards were background stamped with the roller wheel Texture.
Sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
Inks are – Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Pool Party.
Ribbon is Artichoke Denim Jean ribbon.
Say hi to me and the girls on the Stampin’Up! stand at Paperific this weekend if you can make it along to the show.
Here is a card I made some time ago using another set, The Open Sea, from the Summer Mini that is about to finish up. I was inspired to make this card by my sister Stampin’Up! demonstrator Julia Quinn and I used it for a few workshops last month.
The technique is a variation of faux mother of pearl. Onto glossy Stampin’Up! card you stamp your image, punch out the shape and then with a scrunched up piece of cling wrap that has been lightly dabbed into a puddle of shimmer paint (frost white), lightly dab randomly over your stamped images.
The edges of the punched squares were sponged to add a vintage feel to the card.
Stamp sets – The Open Sea, Natures Nest, Happiest Birthday Ever
Inks – Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede
Card – Soft Suede, Glossy White, Very Vanilla
Embossing folder – Framed Tulips
Mini silver brads, square punch 1.25 inch, Big Shot
Below is a version I did using Natures Nest and Nature Walk.
See you again soon!
Here is one more of the samples for my card class this month making punched double gatefold cards. The stamp set used in this card is Marry Me from the nearly expired Summer mini catalogue. Now I don’t normally buy wedding stamp sets but this one caught my eye as I love the flower stamp in the set and I liked the profile stamp of the bride and groom.
Stamp sets – Marry Me, Confetti
Cardstock – Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz
Ink – Black Staz -On, Baja Breeze & Pear Pizzazz for sponging
Paper – First Edition Speciality
Accessories – Sponges, Scallop trim border punch, Full Heart punch, Baja Breeze, Pear pizzazz & Marina Mist marker pens
If you like the set remember you can only get it until March 31st so email your order to me if it is on your wish list! Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for looking!
Here is another card you will be able to make in my class this week. This card uses the lovely stamp set Fabulous Florets and the matching Designer Series Paper – Beyond the Garden. It is another fond farewell to a great stamp set which I hope to see again in the next Idea Book & Catalogue.
I still have places available if you would like to come along and have some fun creating some beautiful cards. See the previous post for full details.
Here is one of the sample cards you will have the option to make in my Technique Card class this month. A punched double gatefold card. This one would make a beautiful invitation for a wedding or engagement.
Class dates are – Thursday March 22nd at 7.30pm
Saturday March 24th at 1.30pm
Cost is $15 to make two cards
Email me at email@example.com if you would like to come along. Classes are held in Mt. Waverley.
This is the card when open, so plenty of space to print an invitation. I’ll have other samples up over the next week or so so come by again and have a look.
I really hope this set goes on to being in the next Idea Book & Catalogue as I have so many ideas for it. As usual I have run out of time with the mini catalogue ending in two weeks! So here’s hoping we will see it’s return later in the year.
Here is a quick 4×4 card I created to do in workshops using this set. A great card to show how one little set can get you started off in card making for $22.95 for a wood mount stamp set.
Stamp set – Bold Blossom ( Summer mini)
Ink – Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Card – Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Accessories – Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip marker pens, Pumpkin Pie narrow grosgrain ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, 2 way glue pen, Stampin’Glitter, Dimensionals
Thanks for coming by to look!
The current Summer Mini Catalogue is due to finish at the end of this month, so if you have not made an order including your favourite items from this catalogue you are going to miss out! As usual there are no guarantees that the items in this catalogue will reappear later in September in the new Idea Book.
My next few posts will be showing off sets from the mini catalogue and if they inspire you make sure you get your order to me before March 31st! Also remember Sale-a-bration also ends March 31 so make the most of the time you have left!!!!
This card has been made using the set on page 6 of the mini catalogue – Charming. This set is designed to co-ordinate with the Simply Adorned range of baubles and jewellery. Now I can definitely let you know that the Simply Adorned range of chains, baubles and charms will NOT be reappearing in any future catalogues in Australia. Stampin’Up! have already informed us that this range plus the Stocking tag punch will not be continuing in future catalogues, so this really is your last chance to get these items.
Now back to my card. The flower stamp is this set lends itself beautifully to being coloured direct to rubber using marker pens. Don’t forget to “huff” on the stamp before stamping to remoisten the marker inks! All the stamps on this card are from this lovely stamp set. Isn’t the butterfly stamp gorgeous?
The frame around the flowers is done using the Big Shot and the embossing folder – Designer Frames. The Polka dots are also another one of our Stampin’Up!embossing folders.
Colours used are Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Regal Rose.
Sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs. the matching stamp to the outside one for the card inner is -“to make it better”
Please do come back soon for more farewell to the Summer mini cards.
Here is a card I made which is very different in style for me. I took inspiration from the Stampin’Up! Idea Book & Catalogue page 81 for the flower composition and then went on my merry way from there!
Using the Blossom Petals Builder punch, which co-ordinates perfectly with this stamp set, I stamped and punched out the larger petals, leaves and flower centre, then fussy cut out the inner petals. Dimensionals under the inner petals added some depth to the flower and it was adhered to some First Edition Speciality DSP, Basic Black card and folded Rose Red card. The ribbon is matching Rose Red narrow grosgrain and the sentiment comes from the stamp set Perfectly Penned. ( Love this set!!!!! ) Some paper curling and distressing to card edges and my card was complete and as I said something very different from what I usually create!
Hope you like it! Let me know what you think – I’d love to hear some feedback!
Recently I couldn’t get to sleep so sat at my desk and randomly started stamping with my latest new stamp set – Established Elegance. I randomly stamped the images on a piece of Very Vanilla, doing Stampin’Off for some of them. I liked the stamped piece so much I could not bring myself to cut it down so created a card around it!
I really like the monotone look and so kept with that for the rest of the card by mounting the stamped card onto folded Elegant Eggplant card that had been stamped in the same colour ink using the blossom stamp from the Elements of Style set.
Before adhering the stamped piece I added three layers of ribbon around the card. There is Very Vanilla satin ribbon, topped with Elegant Eggplant scallop ribbon and finally Very Vanilla narrow grosgrain on top. A different but very effective way to add texture to your creation!
Finally I restamped a couple of the images on scrap card, cut them out and popped them up using Dimensionals. a couple of pearl accents on the crowns and my card was done and I was able to go to bed and sleep!!!!
