Feeling Sentimental – One Layout Three ways

“Feeling Sentimental” is the best Sale-a-bration stamp set to be released in the six years I have been with Stampin’Up! It is proving to be hugely popular with my customers and personally I love it too! You only have to look on Pinterest to see loads of lovely cards created with this stamp set.

You can have this stamp set for FREE if you make a $100 order for Stampin’Up! products with me over the next two months during Sale-a-bration. Here are the cards I made with my first play with the stamp set.

The detail in this stamp set is wonderful and comes out beautifully every time you stamp it. This card uses a couple of items from the soon to end Holiday catalogue – the Framelit Window Frames Collection and the paper is from Festival of Prints DSP stack. Now if you haven’t got the paper stack yet you only have tomorrow to order it as the Holiday catalogue finishes at midnight tomorrow (Jan 31). But if you are after the Framelits then breathe a sigh of relief, these will carry over and are available in the new Seasonal catalogue starting Feb 1st here in Australia.

There is also another Sale-a-bration stamp set used on this card. The sentiment comes from Vintage Verses and it consists of four different sentiments in different fonts.

Now I liked this layout so much I continued with it to create my other two cards from the “Feeling Sentimental” set!

Do you like the DSP? It is from the new seasonal catalogue and is available in the paper stack called “Print Poetry”. There are 48 pages in this stack and they are the right size for card fronts or mounting photos. The sentiment is also from “Feeling Sentimental”. I’ve stamped it onto Natural cotton ribbon, another item which is carrying over from the Holiday catalogue.

And here is my final card.

Same layout but I went for a more dramatic look with the red and black.  The background on the black card has been done using the Builder wheel “Travel Journal” and I’ve inked it on the Illuminate ink pad ( another item carrying over from the Holiday catalogue).

Another seasonal catalogue sneak peek here – Real Red Core’dinations card.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards and that I have given you some ideas for your card creating.

Happy Hello Simply Sent Kit

Look at this lovely card which you can make quick as a flash using the Simply Sent Kit “Happy Hello”on offer for free during Sale-a-bration.

In the kit you get 8 printed cards, (4 printed with “Hello”, 4 blank) 8 die-cut envelopes and everything to make the card above. So if you need a card in a hurry this is the kit for you.

Now not to leave something alone, I had a play to see how I could adapt these pre-cut printed sentiment cards into another style of card for a different occasion. Just to show how you can get more from this lovely card kit! Here it is –

So I have still used items in the kit – the Baker’s twine, the cardstock sticker strip, the sticker flowers and rhinestones and then I’ve added another couple of Sale-a-bration items to jazz the card up a bit more. The stamp comes from “Pretty Petites” and it has a matching new punch released for Sale-a-bration – Petite Curly label punch. Don’t you just love them!!! So cute!!!! The Petite Curly label punch has been layered up onto the regular curly label punch, which just happens to fit perfectly over the printed “hello” sentiment on the card.
To frame the stamped punch piece I punched out Pool Party card with the Petite Curly punch, cut them in half, trimmed off the pointy bits and adhered them under the edges of the sentiment pieces. A very nifty little way to take your cards up to the next step!

The stamp set is called Bloomin’ Marvelous and will only be available during Sale-a-bration.  you can’t buy it but you can get it for free if you make an order for $100. I love any stamp set that has butterflies in it. Even better there is a brand new butterfly punch in the upcoming seasonal catalogue which matches this butterfly perfectly!

The ribbon used is from another Sale-a-bration  freebie – the Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack.

So when are my parties?    Thursday January 31st at 7.30pm
                                            Saturday February 2nd at 2pm

Email me at jannic@bigpond.com if you live in Melbourne and would like to come along.

If you look closely you will see a Seasonal catalogue sneak peek in the card above. the Pool Party card is a new colour available in the Core’dinations card stock range. When you tear, distress or sand this card it reveals the monochromatic inside colour. This type cardstock looks fabulous when used with an embossing folder and distresssed.

I’ve had a productive day stamping so will be back again soon with more Sale-a-bration creations to show you.

Another sneak peek…….All Dressed Up

I’ve had a play with another one of the amazing new products coming up in the new Seasonal catlaogue. Well actually I played with a few items that make up this fun creative set. Playing with these items takes me back to my childhood when I loved playing with paper cutout dress ups – remember those? Showing my age here!!!!!

Any way the items I created with are from “All Dressed Up”. There is a stamp set, matching Dress Up framelit dies, Card Base Pop’n Cuts and Dress Form Pop’n Cuts. You can see them on page 32 of the Seasonal catalogue.

For my first attempt I CASED the sample card in the new Seasonal catalogue to give my son’s fiancee for her birthday today.

The card is virtually the same I just changed the sentiment stamp and framelit cut out for the sentiment. It was fun to do and very easy using the Pop’n Cuts dies in the Big Shot.

I was really pleased with how it turned out and plan to make a lot more dress cards using all these new products. The ideas I have for dresses to create using so many stamping techniques are filling my brain!!!

Here is the card front I created.

The words come from the “Layered Labels” set and were cut out using the matching Apothecary Accents Framelit die.

Cardstock – Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey

Paper – Neutrals Paper Stack

Embellishments – Brights buttons, silver glimmer paper, hole punch, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, White Bakers Twine

Ink – Pool Party, Basic Grey

Framelits – Window Frames Collection, plus those already mentioned

I placed another windows framelit card piece on the back of the card to write our greeting on so as to keep the inner card looking pristine!

Thanks for stopping by!

Missing Mojo………….. and a Sneak Peek!

Well it has been awhile I am sorry between posts. My mojo has been well and truly missing for some time now. It usually happens around the New Year as I get over Christmas and all that it involves. Plus I have come to the conclusion ( and those of you have seen my craft area will probably say I told you so) – I have way too much stuff and looking at it all becomes rather daunting as I sit there wondering where to begin…………………………………………………………. but then on my door step arrives a lovely big brown box from you know who filled with gorgeous new Seasonal catalogue and Sale-a-bration goodies and I can feel the tickle of inspiration happening…….. And guess what?

I made a card!!!!!! And here it is!!!!!!!

I received my copy of the latest Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine today and there were so many layout ideas that I just had to try one of them and see if I could get the creative ideas flowing.

The pinwheels are actually made from a lovely new Sizzlit S die in the new Seasonal catalogue, which is coming your way on February 1st. There were so many lovely goodies in my big brown box but this is one item I really wanted to have a play with. I have to say they were so easy to make and were perfect for the layout I wanted to create.

I have cut the pinwheels from Polka Dot DSP. The black DSP is from the Neutrals Paper Stack both of these are in the main catalogue.

Another sneak peek is the sentiment stamp. It comes in a set of 6 sentiment stamps designed to go with the Pinwheel die. It is a good size as are the birthday and thankyou stamps in the set and they are the perfect size to work with so many of the Stampin’Up! punches. You can see how I used it here with the word window punch.

The black punched piece is the normal size of the word window punch. To create the sentiment punched piece I stamped the sentiment then punched it out lining up the end of the stamped image with the right edge of the punch window. Attach the punched piece to a post it note so as you have something to hang onto then line up the punched image in the punch window and repunch the left end of the stamped image to get your smaller word window punched image.

So here’s hoping the mojo is coming back and will stay around for quite some time!!!!!! There are so many lovely new items in the upcoming Seasonal catalogue and I just have to play with them all!!!!

Happy New Year 2013!!!!

I hope this post finds you and your families well and happy to start off 2013. Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year!

Here is my last Christmas card post. It is the card I sent out to the majority of my friends. It is a CASE of a card by Julie Davison which was a CASE of one her downline’s cards!!!!!

The stamp set is Merry Minis and they have been punched out using the matching punches – too cute and simple!!!!! Add them to a one inch square punch card piece in Whisper White and then onto matching colour card pieces punched using the postage punch.

Card colour and inks are Gumball Green, More Mustard and Raspberry Ripple.

The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

Now to get creating with Sale-a-bration sets and goodies!!!

See you!
