Pillow gifts for Brisbane On Stage Live

We are up in sunny Brisbane, Queensland. Such a warm change from the wet and chill weather we have had back home in Melbourne. Why are we here? For Stampin’Up! On Stage Live! My team and I have been looking forward to this trip and event for months! One of the highlights will be previewing the new Sale-a-bration and Occasions catalogues and better yet, getting to play with the products from these catalogues! You just have to love being a Stampin’Up! demonstrator!!!!

My pillow gifts are from a sample that my downline Simone Bartrum created for our stand display at Paperific a couple of months ago. I loved the sample as soon as I saw it and decided yes my pillow gifts for On Stage are sorted!

The cute little boxes are Clear Tiny Treat Boxes 141699 page 176 in the Annual Catalogue. They are easily missed in the catalogue but look how cute they are! Inside are eight Christmas gift tags made from Cherry Cobbler card.

The pretty paper used comes from a Designer Series Speciality Paper pack in the Annual catalogue – “This Christmas” 141628. Aren’t the tags so sweet? The tag size folded is 5x5cm. 10×5 unfolded.

The Layering Square and Layering Circle Framelits were used to cut out the paper and silver foil pieces. The 1 3/8 circle punch created the stamped sentiment piece. The stamps are from Holly Jolly Greetings 139879 page 34 Annual Catalogue. Ink is Black Memento and Smoky Slate on Very Vanilla card.
To create a pop, the silver foil sentiment piece is raised with Stampin’Dimensionals.

Punch a hole for the tag strings with the 1/8 inch hand held punch and thread through Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Bakers Twine from the Trio pack 141999 in the Holiday catalogue.

I hope my roomies love their cute pillow gifts!

Washi Tape Card

When I was at Convention earlier this month I received a swap from the very talented Marelle Taylor. Marelle, like myself always put a technique into her swaps and hers this year was terrific. As soon as I was back in my room that day I was deconstructing it to see how she had made it!

Once I was back home I made the cards below for my Team Meeting that month for my down line demonstrators to create as a make and take. So below is the first one.

I love how it uses washi tape in such a new way and I was so intrigued as to how the butterfly was reversed. Read on and I’ll let you know how it’s done! Now the card above and below are done with washi tape from the current 2014 catalogue and these are both on the Retiring List of products from that catalogue.

Now this one is a sneak peek using new 2015 washi tape from the 2015 catalogue that goes live on June 2nd.

Now how to create this piece – Stick washi tape across the top of your cut card piece and make sure it wraps under the card about a third of the way, round the corners using a corner rounder punch. Punch out the butterfly using only half the punch, flip the punched half over and you will have it covered with washi tape, position it to the side of the washi panel and mount both on your embossed card with dimensionals foam shapes. the sentiment is stamped using black Staz-On ink and done before mounting the panel onto the card.

And here is Marelle’s original card that I received as a swap. You can read her post on her blog here.

I love it when I get inspiration from the swaps I receive at Convention – thanks Marelle for the great swap!

Enjoy recreating this card and check out the links below for the items required for making this card which you can order in my online store.

Stampin’Up! Convention Gold Coast , Australia 2015 Day 3

All great things come to an end unfortunately, and so we reached the last day of Convention but at least we had clear skies!!!

Morning session saw a great presentation by Carrie Cudney on using the new Hostess sets for your workshops. The samples were gorgeous!

Don’t these cards make you itch to get stamping????
Brandy Harmer then gave us a demonstration on the new gift bag punch board. I was not keen on this when I saw it in the Demonstrator Resource Centre but after Brandy’s presentation – you guessed it, the punchboard is now on my shopping list!

At Convention a demonstrator just has to have a photo in front of the Convention theme board – so here’s mine!
Before lunch on the last day we asked Stampin’Up! photographer Tom to please take a team photo of my team who were at Convention. Isn’t this a great photo and it was posted on the Stampin”up! South Papcific Convention photo page. Thanks Tom for a fabulous photo!
Last seesion we had Bonnie back to tell us all about the new Bohemian Borders Suite of products.
here is a clean and simple card created using the Boho Chic embossing folder.
Bonnie also showed off a new product which had caught my eye in the catalogue and intrigued me – the Cotton paper Assortment. Page 148 of the new catalogue. I love the flower Bonnie created with this paper! I’ll be trying this out as soon as my preorder arrives!
One last surprise from Stampin’Up! to finish off the session and 2015 Convention, an all attendee giveaway of Bohemian DSP and Fast Fuse! I adore the colours in this paper pack – lovely peacock colours I reckon! I am now a master of using Fast Fuse after several plays with it at the Demonstrator Resource Centre!!

Remember those koalas I kept posting about, well it became a bit of a game to get a photo of them all ( they are dotted all over the Gold Coast so I only saw a few of them!) so just I had to share the Mickey Mouse koala with you! That’s the rear end of the Wonder Woman koala in the background!

Nice sunny pic by this koala unlike the one the night before after awards night and we stood in the howling gale and took a group shot, we looked very windblown!!!!!!

And so to our last night on the Gold Coast, a sunset photo! A big thankyou to my lovely team of demonstrators who joined me at Convention. I hope you had as fabulous time as I did. I loved spending time with you all and I look forward to doing it all again in November here in Melbourne!

Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention Day 2

On day two we woke to this – gales and horizontal rain!

Bare feet and rolled up pants was the only way to walk to and from Convention and save our shoes from a soaking!

Here is another one of the koala statues that I mentioned in my last post. This one was inside the Convention Centre – out of the rain!!! that’s the Convention bag I ‘m holding.

Sara Douglas did a wonderful stage stamping demonstration highlighting the new 2015 Ronald McDonald House Charity Stamp set – ” Sprinkles of Life” 139971. When you purchase this set Stampin’Up! will donate $3 from the sale to RMHC.

Sara displayed several lovely cards created using this stamp set. A definite MUST buy! Plus there is a co-ordinating punch – Tree Builder.

More lovely samples from the morning session. This one showcases the Build a Birthday stamp set.

A great example using the new In Colours.

Make and Take session.

Another of the pretty cards from the Tins of Cards Project Kit.

Can’t get enough of these new In Colours. I’m hoping my preorder turns up tomorrow to start playing with them!

A wet walk back to our apartment to change for Awards Night and a taxi ride back to the Convention Centre in our finery. I made a stage walk for a milestone award but the night belonged to my downline Tracy Penn! Placed second for sales in Australia, earning a Performance Bonus and the Incentive Trip! I am so thrilled for you Tracy and your success! Well done!

Simone Bartrum also had a successful night being awarded the Incentive Trip. Simone joined my team nearly 8 years ago. She has had a wonderfully successful Stampin’Up! career!  I am so proud to have both of you as my downlines. You are fabulous demonstrators and you have a terrific team of demonstrators! Enjoy Hawaii next week!

The Photo Booth is a fixture at the After Party now! It’s always fun dressing up and striking the pose! This pic was taken side on as we set our pose. Love these girls – my Convention roomies!

Now you have to be quick with these photo booths – 3 photos taken in quick succession, I wasn’t quick enough to remove the glasses! But I do like this photo!

It was a super fun evening of entertainment. And we still had another day of Convention to look forward to!

Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention 2015 Day One

The first day of Convention dawned with showers but occasionally there was blue skies! Each day to get to the Convention Centre we walked past these artistic koalas painted in different designs and characters. These koalas are located all around the Gold Coast. That’s the Gold Coast Convention Centre across the road.

Sara Douglas opened our first session and she was fabulous!

Our first All attendee Giveaway was a roll of Fast Fuse with a sticker reminder about the upcoming OnStage events. Best news – we have an OnStage Local happening in Melbourne in November! Definitely plan on being there!

The lovely Bonnie Farley had the fun job of taking us on the new catalogue tour. There were soooo many lovely new stamps and products that my wishlist was huge before I’d even got my hands on my own hard copy! Here are the pretty new Incolours for 2015-2017. Love the name Tip Top Taupe.

The new kits in the catalogue are amazing. Here is one of the cards from the Tin of Cards Project Kit. Love this kit!

The Water Wings stamp set looks lovely here done in the new In Colours.

Carrie Cudney shared some gorgeous projects created with the new In Colours. I wish I had the time and space to show the all to you but then nothing will be a surprise for my Catalogue Launch! Below is the ten current 2014-2016 and 2015-2017 In Colours all lined up together. They go so well when all placed side by side.

The Demonstrator Resource Centre had displays galore showing off new products and Demonstrator Booths. My roomie Sandra Collett was one of the demos doing a demonstration. She did a great display showing off the new embossing folders.  The new Designer Series Papers are divine and I know this rose print is going to feature very soon on one of my creations! Love it!!!!

Swaps are always the order of the first day of Convention! I had only 27 to swap after an unfortunate spill accident on my desk where I waterlogged half my swaps. It was not a pretty sight!  You can see my swap here  I love this swap I received from one of my class ladies Sharni Green.

Our team organised a lovely evening dinner and we arranged to do a Team swap based on two inch square samplers. Theme was “Party” to be created in Brights colours. Here is our collection of swaps – 40 of them! Can’t wait to get them framed. My swap was created using “Be the Star’ stamp set, stamped in Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay. A lot of fussy cutting to create it. Four layers of stars for 40 samples – you do the math! They looked fabulous!

By this time of night we were experiencing a major downpour and South East Queensland was preparing for  floods. It rained and rained and rained!
Day two to come very soon!

Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention Leadership

Settle in for my blog update all about last weeks amazing Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention held on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

I arrived on the day before Leadership to sunny skies and was very pleased to find our booked apartment was on the 31st floor of The Meriton.

I knew bad weather was on the way so I made the most of the gorgeous weather to make sure I had some photos of the fabulous views!

As my roomies arrived and took in the view they were delighted! It was so much fun to catch up with my “sister” demonstrator Julia from Sunshine Coast, my downline from Melbourne Nicole and Sandra from Christchurch NZ who I met at Convention 6 years ago and we have been good friends ever since.

Being with Stampin’Up! has given me so many wonderful friendships and Convention is always the time to treasure those friendships.

Pillow gifts are of course one of the fun moments of the first night of Convention!

Leadership Session started for us Wednesday afternoon and you just have to have your photo taken by the Inspire, Create Share welcome sign!

Sara Douglass, Interim Stampin’Up! CEO welcomed us to our session and gave us an inspiring talk on how to succeed in our Stampin’Up! businesses.

The evening saw us off to Managers’ Reception. Stampin’Up! always come up with an awesome experience for us at these events. This year we were treated to the Outback Spectacular, a fabulous show which honours the role of the High Plains horsemen and their horses. Here I am with my “sister” demo Julia.

I am very proud of my downline team of Managers and above. They are a great group of ladies!

To finish off this post I had to include this photo of the border collies from the Outback Spectacular. I used to have a black and white border collie so seeing these two beautifully trained dogs brought back some lovely memories.

Come back for my next installment!

Convention Swaps

Here are the swaps I made for Convention. I did the vellum dry embossing technique on the stamp Kind Koala.

I’ll share some of the swaps I received soon!

Convention Gold Coast Australia 2015 Pillow Gifts

Busy day today with first day of Convention being Leadership and Managers Reception in the evening. A quick post to share with you the pillow gifts I received from my roomies Julia, Nicole and Sandra.

My gifts to my roomies are the kraft journal and the little gift box with the Tangelo Twist ribbon. Inside was a pot of lip wax.

I’ll give you more details when I get home. My laptop is being very slow…….

Convention Day 3 continued!

Back for more? I’m so pleased to have you visiting my blog! The last post was getting a bit long so let’s continue it here. I’ll start off showing you the various display boards. There were some beautiful creations, just divine to look at and admire!

One of Shelli’s projects.
Love the new papers and the new flower Bigz Big Shot die.
And here are some gorgeous Blendabilities samples made by Donna Williams.

Some of Carolyn Bennie’s border stamps samples.
Afternoon saw Convention sadly drawing to a close, but not before a very informative session on Blendabilities by Stampin’Up! Vice President and demonstrator Pam Morgan. I cannot wait to play with this fantastic new product line from Stampin’Up! This photo of some of the colours just makes you want to start creating something fabulous! I have to admit I started stamping as I loved colouring in pictures!
I have to say I LOVE this new flower stamp! It’s called Blended Bloom.
Look at the colour and detail of this design!
And Blendabilities are not just for colouring in outline stamps. Being alcohol markers they create permanent colour on our facetted buttons, rhinestones and pearls!!!!! Gorgeous!!!!!
And if there was not enough reasons so far to be a demonstrator for Stampin’Up!, here’s another one! We all received the Blended Bloom stamp and a pack of Calypso Coral Blendabilities!!!!!
Well unfortunately all wonderful times do have to come to an end……… but now we can all start planning for the 2015 Inspire, Create, Share Event on the Gold Coast, Queensland, April 30 – May 2!
One last pic to share. The terrific Stampin’Up! team who gave us such a fun and energising event. Thankyou to everyone of you and thankyou Stampin’Up! for being such a generous and inspiring company to all of your demonstrators!

Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention 2014 Day 3

The last day of Convention. Everyone dawdled into General Session after a fabulous party the night before. The update session of sales and performances for the last year was given a revamp by staging the information giving as a quiz show. Our panellists were Bonnie, Brian and Emma and they were playing for points. The winner would earn the demonstrators with the

selected colour wrist band a prize. I was cheering for Emma as she was representing those of us holding a Strawberry Slush wrist band!

It was a very informative and fun session. And when the final results came in Brian won, pipping Emma at the post, winning a great Stampin’Up! prize pack for his demonstrators. Guess what second and third places won prizes too!!!!!!! Here I am with my yummy pack of goodies! Stamp set, ribbon and framelits!

Off to our last Inspire, Create, Share workshop but wait, there’s more to be had! Another all attendee giveaway, the new Eclectic Paper Piercing pack. Love the star images in this pack! Here’s Shannon passing out our gifts.

Now to show you the share boards! sit back and browse!

I can see one of my swaps on the board below!
And lucky last share board!
I’ll be back with more in my next post with photos of the displays and Blendabilities!
