Shark Frenzy cards made using the Kissing and Stipple Techniques. How cute are these cards? I made these cards while away on my crafty weekend retreat. I had the Shark Frenzy bundle sitting on my desk unloved and so my aim was to get them into action over the weekend. By chance the CEO of Stampin’Up! Sara Douglas posted a Facebook Live of herself crafting with this stamp set and showing off the kissing and stipple techniques. I knew there and then what I was doing while I was away!
Kissing technique is where you kiss your inked stamp to another stamp to transfer the image from the second stamp to your original stamp and then you stamp that image. The kissed shark on my cards is the Balmy Blue one with the crosshatch pattern on him. So the Balmy blue inked stamp was kissed to the Textured Essentials stamp that was inked up in Pacific Point and then stamped onto the shark image. Stippling is adding dots all over the area of your image you want to highlight. This is done with the tip of a marker or in my case a Stampin’Blends marker. So I stippled Cajun Craze onto the Mango Melody shaded part of my shark image. To see Sara’s video click here.
Kissing was one of the first stamping techniques I learned along with Rockn’Roll. Remember that technique? I will have to do a card to share with you using that technique.
The papers I used are the Whale of a Time 6×6 paper stack. Perfect for a fishy card!
