Stampin’Up! First Frost Sponged Background Card

My fabulous team of Stampin’Up! demonstrators get together for a full day of stamping whenever a new catalogue is released. Yesterday we spent a fun day creating 17 new cards, most of them using products from the new Holiday Catalogue. Each demonstrator creates a card, makes up kits for creating the card and brings everything along to Team Day in a shoe box for our shoebox swap.

My card featured the new stamp set First Frost. I love this stamp set because to me it is not over the top Christmas. It also lends itself beautifully to creating cards that are for other occasions. When buying a stamp set you should always think about how many uses will you get from the set. You should be able to tick off at least five occasions or techniques you can do with a stamp set in order to know you will get fabulous value for money from your new purchase.

The card I created not only shows off a different technique it is also a non Christmas card. Two ticks for the one card!

First Frost Sponged Background Card

To create my card I sponged Powder Pink, Soft Seafoam, Mint Macaron and Gray Granite inks onto Whisper White card. The First Frost images were then stamped onto the sponged background using Soft Suede, Pear Pizazz and Mossy Meadow inkpads.

Linen thread was wrapped the sponged card piece before being mounted onto Pear Pizzazz card strip and then this was adhered to Soft Seafoam cardstock. The sentiment from Cake Soiree was stamped in Soft Seafoam ink and a couple of adhesive backed Soft Seafoam sequins were added for some bling!

The colours I chose for the sponging were chosen from the colour range used for the co-ordinating Frosted Floral Designer Series Papers. You have to see these papers in real life to appreciate how beautiful they are.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. If you would like to order any of the products I used to create this card and you reside in Australia, you can click on the link to my Online Stampin’Up! store just to the right of this post.
